The Top Three Reasons for India’s Constant Red-Ball Success

India has regularly done well in test match cricket over the last six years. With the exception of New Zealand, they have won at least one match in each series. The only unconquered territories are England, New Zealand, and South Africa. If the present drama in the India-England series is any indication, India may be able to limit that list to just two.

Any consistent team checks off almost every box offered by the game of Online Id Cricket, but there are far too many to mention here. In this blog, we will look at the top three reasons for their persistent red-ball success around the world.

Battery with a Long Life

Bowling, not batting, wins the red-ball game, as the saying goes. Outside of the Asian subcontinent, teams require a long-lasting pace battery to put the batting lineups to the test. Fortunately, India is endowed with such resources.

India has it all: the upright seam of Md. Shami, the wobbly seam of Md. Siraj, the unique bounce of Jasprit Bumrah, the reverse swing of Umesh Yadav, and a workhorse like Ishant Sharma. This Indian speed attack has already received widespread acclaim. There is nothing else I can say here.

An ever-lasting spin attack complements this tempo attack. Ravichandran Ashwin has arguably improved with age, and we know how good Ravindra Jadeja can bowl on 4th and 5th day pitches. The one element missing from India’s red-ball attack is a left-arm swing bowler. Arzan Nargaswalla’s addition appears to be an attempt to fix it. That will have to wait for another day and a separate posting.

Captain Kohli’s influence

In 2015, India was suffering in the red-ball format, their ICC ranking had dropped to 6, and they had suffered crushing defeats in England and Australia. Then came Virat Kohli.

Red-ball

The arguments about’mediocrity’ and how he never wanted to be a ‘average’ in Virat Kohli’s response to the interviewers have been continuous. That appears to be the driving force behind his grandiose goal of dominating test cricket Betting Id for at least the next five years after assuming the captaincy.

A promise was made and eventually kept. Under captain Kohli, the fast bowling improved significantly, and he led the batting department, scoring throughout the world even when his teammates struggled. Of course, it isn’t just about Virat. Coaches and support personnel also played important roles, but ignoring the impact of someone as magnetic as Virat is ludicrous.

Commander and his troops

Cricket is the only sport that can be compared to war, which is not something that fans appreciate. Probably because we forget that conflicts aren’t all about bloodshed; a war can be won without fighting. It only requires a commander and his brave warriors.

For Team India, that figure is Virat Kohli. He is the leader who inspires everyone around him to reach their best potential, to give their all, and to not care what others think. His intensity on the field serves as a rallying call for his men. The never-say-die attitude he imparted to the team was finally ingrained in every single member of the team.

Whether or not Virat plays, the squad always plays with the mindset and enthusiasm that Virat brings with him. The young guys, in particular, believe in giving back, and it’s almost as if XI Virat Kohlis are playing together. Virat Kohli is aging as a batter and may retire in the next 3-5 years, but his legacy lives on in this team.

The Essentials

India does not have the same challenges that England does right now. Test cricket remains their prime priority, unlike a few others who have loosened their concentration on test cricket.

This begins at the high school level, where 2-day, 3-day, and 4-day matches are common. Almost everyone aspires to play test cricket, and everyone on the domestic circuit competes in the Ranji Trophy. India plays a lot of test cricket at the highest level, as part of the big three.

Having a captain who enjoys and prioritizes red-ball cricket is also beneficial, because the country eventually follows its leader. However, it is not meant to be disrespectful to other forms. The carving road must include the significance of all formats, which BCCI has done admirably.
